AW 2013 Collection "Anonimous" by Long Tran, seducer incognito
Fashion designer Long Tran immediately plays the provocative contrasts card in his fourth collection, for AW 2013. He does so immediately from the name, "Anonimous", for a series that has truly nothing anonymous to it.
The theme that pervades the entire collection, applied to different elements of the silhouette, is that of protection. Protection from an identity, an image, an intimacy. The subject is explored with the use of various imagery, from the elusive elegance of capes to the opulent richness of flowers – for women – up to the enigmatic plumage of the crow and dark, masked warriors, for men.
Long pushes fashion towards the borderline territory with costume, without, however, taking it over the edge. He designs garments similar to elegant armors that display imposing, sculptural shoulders, high collars, Victorian ruffs and extreme head pieces.
